The Jacinta James philosophy centres back constantly to two words: Honour Her. We honour the woman, the craft in creating, and mother nature herself. We see creating and clothing as an opportunity for communication, and right now, communication around consciousness is key.
HONOUR HER: THE WOMAN
At Jacinta James, we see clothing as expression. Our styles are intentionally minimal in aesthetic, so there is space for your own expression to emanate. We believe that clothing design should not limit the woman within. Instead we believe in allowing you to choose how a style may work best, specifically, for you. We design some of our styles with versatility, where one style can be worn in different ways and encourage you to explore your own interpretation. We also offer a variety of custom options to tailor uniquely to you. We believe that every woman, deserves clothing that meets the desires unique to her.
HONOUR HER: CONSCIOUSLY CREATED
Our work is in honour of the creative process and the traditional crafts in making clothing and object. We believe this level of craftsmanship to be essential to a slow, sustainable fashion future. We see creativity and its outcomes as a sacred, feminine form of expression that is worthy of celebration. We believe the time, energy and resources involved in creating clothing and object, infuses craft with heirloom quality.
We lean into Jacinta’s couture training with Madame Gres’ ateliers in Paris and her tailoring skills further honed in New York, to formulate clothing entrenched in craft and technique. We make to order, locally and sustainably to reduce waste and respect the time involved in creating truly crafted clothing. The process of constructing any Jacinta James garment is a remarkably hands-on one - because we believe that an exquisitely made garment is a future heirloom to cherish. HONOUR HER: MOTHER NATURE
Jacinta James is a studio grounded, in feeling, where we believe it is impossible to disassociate consciousness from creative process. Design is approached from a place of tactility, intuition, and experience – but also from considering the impacts and intention of what we create.
